This project is designed for small businesses with little experience of digital, to learn how digital channels can support them. Google has developed a package of online learning lessons called Google Digital Garage.

So if you think you or your employees need to learn ways in which digital can help you grow your business and gain new customers, we can introduce you to, and help you get started on this learning.

Who is eligible?

You can be included if you are a:

  • Sole trader
  • Microbusiness (10 or less employees) – owner or employee
  • Seeking to start your own business
  • Employee of a charity
  • A prospective employee of any of the above

What will it involve for learners?

You, or your employee, will come along to an introductory session of 1 hour. We will help you create a learning plan tailored to your needs: for instance if you want to sell online, reach new customers or develop your website. Then you learn at your own pace at home or in the library.

You will need to commit to a minimum of one hour or more learning online, AND to cover a certain number of topics (more details when you come to the appointment).

What will we learn?

The principles of using digital in marketing your business. Topics include:

  • E-mail marketing
  • Social media for businesses
  • Website promotion
  • Being found on search engines
  • Using mobile apps
  • Online sales
  • Measuring success online
  • Using video
