The rates increased on 1 April 2019 and are expected to benefit approximately 2.1 million people. For full-time workers earning NLW, this will increase their wages by £690 per year.
Are you 25 or over?
If you are a worker aged 25 and over, and not in your first year of an apprenticeship, you are legally entitled to at least the National Living Wage of £8.21 per hour.
Are you under 25?
If you are a worker aged under 25, or an apprentice, you are legally entitled to at least the National Minimum Wage.
Are you an apprentice?
If you are in your first year of your apprenticeship then you are legally entitled to at least the apprenticeship National Minimum Wage of £3.90 per hour.
If you are aged 19 or over and have completed the first year of your apprenticeship, then you are legally entitled to at least the National Living and Minimum Wage rates relevant to your age group.
