A unique grant funding ‘matchmaking’ event is set to inform Essex businesses about funding opportunities in the region.
The collaborative ‘Grants Funding Matchmaker’ event will take place on Friday 21 July at Harlow Enterprise Hub, and is supported by BEST Growth Hub, Thurrock Council, Anglia Ruskin University, Deyton Bell Ltd, University of Essex, Department for International Trade, and Nwes, who will be hosting the event.
With the aim of matching businesses to appropriate grant funding opportunities, the event is free to attend. It is anticipated that it will ‘open doors’ for ambitious businesses in Essex by acting as a catalyst for growth, innovation, and unlocking new opportunities.
There are a variety of programmes available, including European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programmes South East Business Boost, Low Carbon across the South East, Keep+, Essex Growth Programme, and Get Exporting 2. Additionally, the University of Essex will be available to discuss the Innovation Vouchers initiative, and BEST Growth Hub will be on hand to offer general advice regarding grants for businesses.
Carole Randall Keep+ Programme Manager says: “This kind of event is a brilliant way for businesses to access information about a range of funding opportunities in a really focussed and time-saving way. The chance to speak directly to the people that manage those funds means that all the details of a possible assistance can be teased out quickly and efficiently and the best options for moving forward identified.”
Nwes Area Manager for Cambridgeshire & Essex, Gillian Austen, says.
“Nwes is pleased to be able to host this matchmaking event, which is beneficial not only to businesses in Essex looking for funding, but also to the grants providers by giving them a market place in which to promote their wares. It’s fantastic that the event is being supported by so many valuable partners, providing information about a wide range of grants available across different business sectors and for different business needs.
“We really hope business owners will come along and make the most of the opportunities being offered.”
Grants of between £1,000 and £60,000 are available to businesses who meet eligibility criteria. Nwes will also be on hand for general business advice and support.
The event takes place on Friday 21 July, 9.30am – 1.00pm at Harlow Enterprise Hub, Kao Hockham Building, Edinburgh Way.
