Ambitious Essex and Ambitious Women in Essex are joining forces to bring you an event to celebrate World Creativity and Innovation Day (April 21) and Earth Day (April 22), with support from Innovate UK Edge and Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

Join Ambitious Essex for a morning session where you can from our amazing 4 guest speakers (itinerary below) and take part in networking with fellow attendees.

Fernando Centeno from Innovate UK Edge

A Lead Innovation and Growth Specialist with an extensive background in innovation and sustainability. Fernando is a highly experienced entrepreneur, consultant, coach and mentor with a track record of helping companies bring innovation to market in the cleantech and circular economy sectors. Fernando has advised a plethora of start-ups and SMEs on strategy, marketing, equity finance, grants, product development and sustainability, improving their innovation expertise.

Linda Blanchette, Consciously Clothed

Linda took part in the Climate Assembly UK where she learnt about how the things we buy are linked to climate change and when we throw products away that has implications for climate change too. The assembly supported the idea of repairing and sharing more, with less purchasing of new products and that’s when she came up with the idea of Consciously Clothed. A unique, local and conscious service helping you to make clothes last longer.

Becky Baines, The Ink Bin

An award winning circular economy advocate, Becky is the Managing Director of Ink Bin, a family-run business specialising in the sustainable recycling and refilling of printer inkjet cartridges. Working alongside schools, charities and businesses to collect cartridges and offer cash for cartridges to support worthwhile causes and projects. Led by a teacher, The Ink Bin prides itself on quality service and support; with integrity and passion. Their mission- to make the world more colourful one cartridge at a time!

Elise Clitheroe, Reco Store

From a fashion design background, Elise has always had a passion for saving the planet and when she met her now business partner Susie, the Reco Store was born. Based in Tiptree the store offers affordable, well researched, earth friendly produce, all package free. They buy locally wherever possible and are always working with suppliers to improve their packaging or to initiate closed loop supply systems.

Refreshments will be provided.

Getting to the event:

The event is being held within the Innovation Centre at Essex University, Knowledge Gateway, Boundary Road, Colchester, CO4 3ZQ.

The venue is accessible by public transport and there is parking on site for those driving.
