Angels@Essex – Female Founders and Investors is a female-led network that helps female-led tech businesses to find the right investors. This initiative will offer support that addresses the specific needs, challenges and goals of female founders and investors. We welcome both parties into the inclusive Angels@Essex community. Look out for the regular monthly events and follow on Twitter @AngelsEssexFFI

Angels@Essex embraces the Investing in Women Code. This is a commitment to support the advancement of female entrepreneurship in the United Kingdom by improving female entrepreneurs’ access to tools, resources, and finance from the financial services sector. Angels@Essex is committed to making that vision a reality.

Guest Speaker: Nicky Browne – Mighty Oak

Nicky trained as a nurse in St Vincent’s Hospital Dublin, and as a teacher in St Mary’s Twickenham UK. She travelled with Up With People and performed the half-time of Super Bowl XVI in Michigan USA.

Having worked in Rome Italy, Perth WA, Mazabuka Zambia and throughout England, Nicky has gained valuable experience teaching primary school children.

She believes that one of the most valuable gifts we can give the next generation is to ensure that every child, whatever their background, can speak their mind with confidence, in a clear, articulate, engaging manner.

Her Mighty Oak Public Speaking Programme started off as a primary school programme and has expanded to include secondary school, university students, early career teachers and CPD for staff. Over 12,000 pupils have benefited from the programme to date.

Mighty Oak can now be sourced online in both direct and hybrid teaching formats.
