Your attendance at the East of England Economic Summit, bringing together ICAEW’s nationwide research with expert views from local panellists and speakers is more important than ever before. As we approach mid-year, it is of paramount importance to reflect on how heavily our lives and businesses continue to be impacted by the COVID pandemic and how, local professional leaders can begin to drive a sustainable economic recovery across the region. Analysis and business insight continues to be crucial for policy makers, regulators and businesses themselves so will start with presentations from both ICAEW and the Bank of England on their views at both a national and regional level before breaking into panel groups to explore the implications of this at a local level. The overarching objective is to stimulate debate on how the local economy can begin to emerge stronger through a sustainable recovery. They will also reflect on how businesses have fared since our previous Economic Summit in December 2020.
